What Makes a Digital Pool Table Mockup Trustworthy?

Custom felt mockup

A beautiful rendering can still be misleading. A pool table that has the wrong proportions, altered lettering or a printed pattern spilling across wooden rails may look dramatic but tell the customer very little about what could be produced. A useful mockup should make decisions easier, not conceal production questions.

What a mockup cannot reveal about manufacturing

Some printed billiard cloth is made by transferring a graphic into compatible polyester-based fabric through heat and dye-sublimation processes. In that case, the pictured design is not necessarily a raised sticker or vinyl layer. A digital mockup cannot establish which substrate, coating or printing technique will be used on your order. Those are product-specification questions.

Also distinguish a quick concept render from the proof used to authorize production. The latter should reflect the agreed artwork, orientation, visible area and rail treatment, while the supplier confirms feasibility separately.

Start with the shape

The playing bed should be a credible rectangle, viewed in consistent perspective, with pockets and rails in plausible positions. An artificial square table or cushion geometry that doesn't line up with the surface is a warning that the image may have been redrawn rather than carefully composited.

Compare the source logo with the result

Check exact spelling, symbols, color order and spacing. Look for stray halos or a dark rectangle around a logo that originally appeared on white paper. Automated background removal should eliminate unwanted canvas without deleting legitimate white shapes inside the mark.

Don't confuse appearance with feasibility

The visual may show printed cushions or unusually detailed artwork. That is a design concept, not proof of print compatibility, fabric quality, alignment across separate pieces or installation method. Production specifications are a separate document.

Look at the difficult parts

Zoom into pocket edges, rail junctions, text and fine artwork. Examine whether the graphic is stretched or skewed. A good preview should preserve the uploaded design's proportions even after mapping it onto the playing surface.

What to ask for when it looks wrong

Request correction of the specific issue: restore the original logo file, remove an unrequested shadow, change the cushion color, or recenter the artwork. Give precise feedback rather than asking for something generically 'more realistic'.

You can try your idea using the free custom table visualization offer. Judge it against these checks, then request corrections if the preview doesn't preserve the submitted artwork.

Preview quality FAQs

Is a rendered image a photograph of finished felt?

No. Unless stated and verified otherwise, a mockup is a representation of a proposed design.

Can AI change the spelling in my logo?

Yes. Generated or reconstructed lettering can be inaccurate, so compare it with the source.

Should an image include realistic shadows?

Realistic lighting can help, but unwanted shadows and overlays must not obscure the artwork.

Does a convincing image guarantee a good print?

No. Production quality and materials require separate checks.

What to inspect before approving a mockup

Check the table proportions, rail and cushion colors, pocket locations, and the direction of the main graphic. For a logo, compare its position relative to the rack area and the long centerline. If artwork continues onto the cushions, confirm that the preview does not mistakenly show the print covering the wooden rails.

A rendered mockup is a design communication tool, not a manufacturing proof. Ask about acceptable file resolution, print placement tolerances, final colors, and the exact pieces included in the order. Review a final production specification separately from the promotional picture.
