Dallas found themselves with a 27-21 lead in the fourth quarter with less than five minutes left in the game, however, Montana would get the ball at the 49ers' own 11-yard line with a chance to lead a game-winning drive. The offense managed to get all the way down to the Cowboys' six-yard line, where they faced a 3rd & 3 with 58 seconds left. After backpedaling to avoid three defenders and using a nifty pump-fake to get Ed "Too Tall" Jones off of his feet, Montana would find Clark in the back of the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. San Francisco would go on to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XVI, giving Montana the first of his four Super Bowl rings.
